I still haven't been this year. I looked the weather this weekend and was eager to go with the cooler temps, then I saw the East wind. None of my spots at Cahaba work for an East wind. Tomorrow morning is supposed to be an ESE wind, which may work for a new spot I found a few weeks ago while scouting, but dang I need a North wind to hit my honey holes.

I think everything about this year so far has been out of the ordinary. Temps, drought and winds.

East actually worked out for me this afternoon. Back at the spot I saw a shooter at opening weekend. Haven't hunted it since. Nearly identical conditions. If he slips up again I'll be ready.

Seems like we had an east wind 4 out of 5 days last year didn't we? Doesn't really matter at Cahaba anyway since it just swirls every which direction anyway.

At Cahaba the wind changes every 30 mins. Been busted twice already. You pretty much have to hunt right before a front moves in to get a consistent wind but even then it still swirls.

Wind from the east, fish bite the least.

It actually has more to do with the barometric pressure that usually goes along with it, but I hate an east wind. Fishing or hunting, it sucks!
