So I take a lil ridicule from some friends about my old bow. Ive had it since the mid 90's. You can see a pic of it in the TEam page under GAry Gone Wild or on the bow kill thread. I was just wandering does anybody else in the state still hunt with one of these bows other than me? Or if you still got a relic you kill deer with then lets hear about it.

I have an old (late 1960s) Black Mamba that I hunted with until about three years ago. I pulled it out to let a friend shoot it last year and the limb tip delaminated.
Broke my neck and tore my rotator cuff at the same time in '05 and just can't draw enough to practice right anymore so I hunt with a cross-rifle now.

Oldest bow I've used & killed with was an '08; but I rub "virtual" shoulders w/many old Bear guys that are using recurves from decades ago (60's & 70's easily) & still taking down game & posting pics online...

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

We have a guy in our club that still uses one. I'm pretty sure it's a 60s. You can't beat those bows. Mine is an 04 Black Widow. My uncle's is a 92 or 93 Widow.

I bought myself a custom recurve (Groves Spitfire Mag III) for my 50th birthday, that was 2001. This thread reminds me that I need to go shoot it some more That is also a good looking bow. I'm still determined to make my own after this season and I move into the new house. The basement bow range and "archery shop" has been approved by the Mrs.

I still hunt with my Mathews MQ32. Still killing deer with it and don't see that changing any time soon.
Yeah, well, I always heard there were three kinds of suns in Kansas: sunshine, sunflowers, and sons-of-bitches.

I cant justify spending the kind of money it would take to get a good new bow. I only get to bow hunt one or two times per year. If my old buckmaster ever lays down Im going to a X-bow so I can take my kid and sit in shooting houses and let her shoot.

During my three or four years of bowhunting ("you ain't gone beleeeeeeve the deer you see during bow season!! It's wild! The deer are everywhere! You gotta get in on this!") I used a 1980s McPherson GC-2000 that seemed to be good when I practiced with it. I never released the first arrow at a deer, but I did practice a lot.
