Got some pictures of this guy feeding under my white oak this week. Is it just me or does this deer look like it has extremely short legs? We had a doe like that in another piece of property that we called the dwarf doe. Appeared to be full grown but stood probably 6" shorter than the rest.

I've always heard that when deer get older their legs look shorter. My guess is you have a very old buck there

Old or not, his friends front legs look odd. Looks like he's standing in deep mud.

I believe its not politically correct to use the term midget, they prefer the words, dwarf deer, little deer, or LD. Midget is a slang word and you probably offended this deer so bad he will need to have counseling for the traumatic experience. grin

It isn't necessary to see a good tackle...you can hear it.

Front right leg looks like it has been broken before. Definitely an old one there. 6-7

Looks to me like he has a really thick body from top of back to brisket which just makes his legs look shorter.

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

The Clorox stump stunted his leg growth.
