Idiocracy......I mean, I thought it was a comedy at the time, but now it's all becoming terrifyingly true

I hate scary movies. For the most part, they have horrible story lines, and I just don't like them.
The monster and alien type movies are stupid, and I ain't messin with no demon type movies.

I don't get into "scary" movies, or any other "downers" for that matter. I know it's not real, but there's too much real stuff in the world these days to be scared/sad/upset over. What little leisure time I have, I want to watch something funny, positive, upbeat, etc. The only real exception to that is Game of Thrones, but I'm hooked on it.

I watched Friday the 13 when I was about ten or eleven. That just about did it for me and scary movies.
I dream about them and then I wake up thinking the damn monsters are in the house. Luckily no bullet holes in any of the drywall.

None of those slasher movies like Halloween and Friday the 13th scare me. They use to when I was younger but now I like the Halloween movies.

When we were kids my mom used to drop me and my buddies off at the Green Springs 4 theaters and we could watch a Saturday matinee movie. One Saturday we went there to supposedly watch some kind of hippy movie or something, but instead we snuck into The Exorcist. We were so scared after that we all spent the night at Clay's house and we made a pact that one of us had to stay up all night. TO this day I don't like scary movies. Life is scary enough.

Children of the Corn (original), hands down. That said, I've never, and won't ever, watch The Excorcist or Damien so I can't comment on those. I don't blame you there...but I will say those movies are really overrated as far as fear factor. To me, they aren't even scary. Which I think both are more psychological thrillers so they won't have the same affect on every one.

I watched Gremlins for the first time when I think I was around 6 or 7 at a buddy's house. He lived around the neighborhood from me and I walked home that night scared about every little noise I heard. Then when I got home and flipped my light off to go to bed I kicked and punched all the way to the bed.

I always thought the original Exorcist was right up there at the top along with Amityville Horror. I still have nightmares about Amityville Horror and folks in the attic and basement.

Movies about Satan and Demons are the only ones that really give me the willies just because there is some truth in it. The scariest, to me at the time, was an old movie I watched when I was a kid called Salem's Lot or Satan's Lot. For some reason it got to me when I was only about 7 years old. Nightmares for a few nights after.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

One of the best old school Scare-The-Pants-Off-You ghost movies is an old obscure movie from the 70s with George C. Scott. The name of it is "The Changeling", not to be confused with the Angelina Jolie movie of the same name. It's still available to watch, somewhere, I'm sure.
That said, I've gotten away from watching movies that have to do with the supernatural, especially demon or devil movies. I just personally don't want to chance giving any entity an in-road into my conciousness and soul. I'm imperfect enough as it is. The same goes with getting drunk or high. I ain't gonna diminish my free will to any entity except God himself. Sermon over.

Idiocracy......I mean, I thought it was a comedy at the time, but now it's all becoming terrifyingly true No Gomer, that movie is turning out to be a documentary. Really think about the part where the dumb, uneducated, welfare rats breed like rabbits and the educated people hold off on having kids due to cost. That is happening now and the result will be the same in the future.

Pee-wees big adventure and elmos potty time. Thanks you prick! I thought I would never have to hear or read "Elmo's potty time" again. All my sons watched the piss out of that when they were real young.

When I was younger the movie "Critters" used to scare the hell outta me. They were these little round hairy creatures with quills like a porcupine they could shoot and they had blood red eyes and razor sharp teeth and would devour poor humans

Amityville horror the original movie x 9,000! When I was a kid this danged movie came on and I've had thoughts of it every time I see a two story house with a chimney on the end and windows on either side! Ugh!

Thanks for bringing up "Idiocracy". Now I've got that stupid music from the movie stuck in my head. I did like President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho, though.

It probably ain't that scary but I was a little feller when I saw Cary. I don't remember the plot or anything but that bucket of blood falling on that girl and the hand reaching up out the grave bout made me chit my pants. I didn't sleep for a week. Not really a scary movie but I was little when I saw Jaws at the theater. I was scared to take a bath for a month. It's one of my favorites. Watch it anytime I come across it.

I watched The Exorcist one night at home by myself. A few weeks later I was stupid enough to watch The Omen and The Omen II. I don't think I got a good nights sleep until I was 15. LOL Monster or Chainsaw massacre type movies didn't bother me too much, but those dealing with pure evil, satanic stuff scared the Hell right out of me.
