I have eaten coot before. Even put it up as a taste test for my wife(next to the usual wood duck). She said the coot tasted better

We used to shoot coots with a ,22 at Ellis Landing when I was in hs. I learned a lot about bullet trajectory doing that. Pretty amazing to nail one at 300 yards.

Kids, don't try this today. This was back in ancient times when Wilcox co was the wild west. Plus, I had fallen under the influence of evil companions; all of them best friends of Bhamfred. smile

Yes you have to be legal with license and stamps to be out on water with a gun hunting period
