I hunted most of the day tuesday and made the mistake of not using insect repellent.Fellas I am paying the price, these damn red bugs are trying to eat me alive.Never again will I not spray myself down when it's warm weather and track through the woods.I was a kid the last time I got in them this bad.A case of red bug bites would make even Hillary tell the truth....

I feel for you. Apparently there is only one cure. 10 days or so.

What repellent works on chiggers?

All of the regular repellent works on them. Once you got them, you got them though.

Chigarid for the bites is AMAZING.

Permethrin from TS is like $5. Dilute it and spray down your hunting clothes real good, Wash your clothes in scent free stuff and you will still be protected.

get anything with Hydrocortisone and it will stop the itch in a couple of days.

Wipe said area (balls) with gasoline. If that doesn't help light them. I promise chiggers will no longer be your main concern !!!

Chiggers aren't so bad. Just don't scratch at them and they'll go away. If you can't do that, then....scratch at them until you break the skin, then get in salt water.

I prefer not to scratch them, though.

Scratch, no scratch, treatment, no treatment - all seems to be the same to me. They drive you nuts for ten days or so.

I may have got in 'em today bad since I found one on me when I got home. I got the atv stuck in a dry creek bed and it took me a damn hhalf hour to winch out. Think I got covered up with them in there.

The bath with a little Clorox works but you need to do it soon and not wait.A cap full is enough.

The sides got squared out real bad. I had to do some piddlin' on the neighbors land with the atv to avoid getting stuck again. If I never have to use another winch again it'll be too soon.
