Get fixed head. Look at slick tricks, check the holes they make.
The only deer I've lost were using mechanicals.

I like them. For a head that the blades flip backwards, it's the best penetrating head I've ever shot. I shoot them and/or Rage Hypodermic. Just depends on my mood for the day.

Ive killed about 10 deer with them and every shot has been a pass thru. I shot the Razor tips. I switched back to fixed blades this year. Just more comfortable with fixed blades for some reason, even though I've had no issues with the reapers.

Nothing wrong w mechanical. I shoot original rage no problem. I hate fixed because you have to sight in specific for broad heads. Nice thing about mechanical is little if any difference in field tip to mechanical broadhead. Why go to more trouble sighting in if you don't have to? Also mechanicals are deadly and I've recovered deer with massive blood trail that were off a little. Hit one in rear ham area and it bled it and dropped in less than 60 yards. Ton of blood. Absolutely nothing wrong with a mechanical!

I've used them last year while switching back to a compound.

I switched to them last season after losing a decent 7 point on Wheeler last year with the Rage Hypodermics. My buddy shot a doe the week before with the Grim Reapers and it looked like he threw a baseball through her.

Slightly off subject but I've been thinking about using the practice heads for small game heads....anyone ever tried this??

I shot a doe in the front shoulder with one a few years ago. It looked like she had been shot with a high powered rifle. I love them.

Alright, I'm going to pick some up. Should I get the whitetail special with the 2" cut or get something smaller for better penetration? Mathews NoCam and I'm pulling 68 lbs with a 26.5 draw. Would that be enough for the 2" cut?

I shoot the 2" at 60# and 26" draw.

The crazy old loon makes sense every now and again. I am using Wac'Em fixed blades after testing them they came 4 to a pack, cost $10 less than most 3 packs, and are made here in Alabama
