I paid $50 this past season here and I had already field dressed it. They did a good job cutting it all for me. Hamburger and jerkey slices

I would rather be tried by 12, than carried by 6.

I take 2 deer a year both cube loin and hams hamburger and link sausage the rest. Usually a doe and decent buck. It's around $200 ish. That's already quartered in an ice chest

I think we pay $65 for the standard cube steak etc and they do everything, all we do is shoot the deer.

$75 for typical process(patty sausage, burger, cube steak, whole back straps) $90 if they have to gut it. I used to process all my own, but when a reputable processor opened up 10 minutes away that all ended. After buying seasoning, fat, vacuum bags, hours spent quartering, deboning, and removing all the silver skin and sinews, ice for cooler........ counting labor hours it cost me more doing it myself than it does to drop it with the processor

Usually 60-80. If I get specialty stuff it's around 130.

Not necessarily. If it's only an extra $5-10, I'd just let them do it.

The processor I uses charges extra to field dress the deer but not for skinning.

I"ll be gutting it myself. No reason in dragging extra weight out of the woods. The whole processor thing is new to me

$150 is what i would think would be high end even for all specialty.
Took one to a processor once and got all sausage.
Which I expected to be a little towards the high end.
~$280 and it was barely 2 paper sacks of meat.
After I nearly fainted, I paid and left.
Won't be going back.

Processing myself is hell of a lot cheaper than paying somebody else to do it. It's not hard

X2 What Crazy8 said, we make burger out of everything except the backstraps, we cube them, you can use the burger dozens of different ways, we mix beef fat with ours, far better than any ground chuck that you can buy at around $5.00 per lb.

I think we paid $65-$75/deer for a mix of cube steak and burger. That included $10 (I think) to gut the deer. Our processor is literally like a mile and a half from the club I was in, so it was worth $10 to not have to fool with field-dressing one.

I've seen them gut a deer in 15 secs and make $20 for it

Me and a buddy once cleaned 125 crappie in a dorm laundry room. grin

Not sure how a deer being processed in one would go though.

Our processor skins and guts for $20. Takes the owner's son about 3 or 4 minutes, if he takes his time.
