Was reading an arrow thread and shaw mentioned lowering the persons weight. Well I had mine pegged at 70ish. So I back off a little over a turn to around 65 and wow what a difference. The big difference I can tell is when I hit the let off point and holding steadier. Should've done it earlier.

When I got my first compound, an old guy that worked with my dad told me if you couldn't sit on a 5 gallon bucket and draw the bow back without having to point it up, you're pulling too much weight. It took me about 8 years to figure out that old dude was correct.

I finally got out of the teenage mindset and made the choice and don't regret it. Now don't get me wrong I love that arrow just screaming but accuracy is what kills

My dads buddy is in his 80s and shoots 37#s. He kills the crap out of big bucks in the Midwest.

Around 60-62 sure feels good to me.

I cranked my 70# Martin down to 66. Was more accurate and easier to draw. My Icon on the otherhand, is a 70# bow and set to 70. With the flip disc on "comfort" Its an easy draw with No hump to get over.

Yep, I've got mine at 60-62ish. Heck, I'd probably go down to mid-50's but my bow doesn't have enough adjustment for it. There's just no need to shoot such heavy poundage.

Ive shot recurves all my life and all my bows have been 45-50 lbs.
Not braggin but Ive blown slap thru deer.
It dont take that much poundage.
Not that it hurts to be shooting 65bs

Traditional doesn't have let off. Rarely do I ever hold a draw either. It's mainly, draw and aim all in one motion, and let off after touching corner of mouth.

52-53lbs.
