LSU may be a top 5 gig out of what is available this year but in an overall sense they would barely break the top 15. They have zero instate competition, large money boosters, and a humongous fan base, making them a top 6-7 gig all day every day. My top 7 would be: Bama Texas USC Ohio State Florida Michigan LSU

Notre Dame certainly belongs in the top followed by Ohio State, Michigan, Georgia, Penn State, Oklahoma and maybe Tenessee. Hell, Florida State is a better job than LSU. Just ask Jimbo. Bobby Bowden didn't like competition either. Why they're not in SEC now. You're crazy if you think Tennessee is anywhere close to LSU. Recruiting graveyard. Oklahoma is good job, should be #10 on my list

I forgot Oregon. It's ahead of LSU too. I have no idea why they settled for their current coach. Not top 10. They have average sec school money. Just because Phil Knight has billions doesn't mean he's spending it all on football. Also poor recruiting area. Oklahoma State has same resources as Oregon, and a better football tradition

Be interesting to see if they go through the Tennessee kind of deal now. The grass ain't always greener on the other side of the fence.

Notre Dame has the worse recruiting base in the country and with the academic requirements they will never be the team of the past.

LSU may be a top 5 gig out of what is available this year but in an overall sense they would barely break the top 15. 1) Texas. 2) Florida 3) USC 4) Alabama 5) LSU Next: 6) Notre Dame 7) Michigan 8) Ohio State 9) Georgia 10) Oklahoma Who do you suggest moves anyone out of that top 5? And it will be #1 available this year, not top 5 Looks like the TX job just opened.
