I desperately need a new string on my bow before I attempt to take down my first whitetail. Who would you guys recommend in the huntsville area?

I haven't had to get a new string... but the two shops I know of and have been in are Full Draw Archery and also Custom Archery. I'm sure either one would do a fine job, but I'm also sure others could weigh in on here.

If Shaw can't hook you up. Larry O'dell @ O'Dells Archery or Allen @ Mountain Outfitter. Both are Great Tech and will hook you up.

Where can I find the contact info for Shaw? Is he associated with a shop that I could look up online?

If Shaw is too busy, I'd get on Archery Talk and get one of the other custom string makers to make you a string. You could purchase it online/phone and have a local shop put it on for you. If they won't, I'll put it on for you. What bow do you have?

I would rather resort to throwing rocks at the deer if my only choice was Allen Connor. He does some great custom strings but for a guy that owns his own business he has got to be the rudest person I ever met in my life.I will drive 75 miles to use anyone else .I can be at his shop in 10 minutes.

He's great! Also had good luck with Full Draw. I've had strings put on by both

Call Patrick Crocker at Crocker Custom Bowstrings (205) 566-2831. He is in west Jefferson County, but can build a custom string and mail it to you for installation by a local bow tech. I really like the ones he has built for my bows.
