we picked up a new lease a couple of months ago. pete went up friday to bushhog and discovered that an adjoining land owner had bushhogged a trail from the back of his property to one of the food plots (i'd say about 100 yards). this trail leads from the back of his property and runs in a round-about way to the food plot...like a four wheeler/golf cart trail - maybe to retrieve something large...you know...like a deer or three. the good ol' boy even trimmed the unwanted vegetation from the food plot with a machete, ditch axe, pruning shears, or some other sharp instrument (easy to tell when something has been cut by bushhog or with something more precise/deliberate). the very considerate neighbor also trimmed the vegetation outside the plot, to about waist level, for a shooting lane. the shooting lane runs in a direct path from the food plot to his yard, where he happens to have...yep, you guessed right - a shooting house. but not just any shooting house, an elevated one with perfect view to the food plot. crazy coincidence, isn't it?!! WOW!!! that was so kind of him, especially since county gis shows him to own only 5.5 acres. guess he's already groomed and manicured his property and was looking for something else to consume his time . BUT WAIT!!! THERE'S MORE!!! that's right folks. this good neighbor came over to OUR leased land AFTER pete had left for the day. guess he must have worked late friday and by the time he got home from work, pete had already left. too bad he didn't get to introduce himself . how do we know this, you say? well, me and baby girl and pete loaded up the wagon and headed to the land yesterday, so's we could see the layout and make plans for plots and stands. upon our arrival to the previously mentioned area, we saw that the neighbor (just guessing here...as it could have miraculously been dumped from a cargo plane flying really low overhead ) put out a pile of pears. it is my opinion that those pears did not fall from the oak or pine trees that surround the plot...soooo. where do we go from here boys and girls? i just love to divert my very precious and valuable time taking folks to court . maybe i can meet the neighbor in front of the county judge in good ol' bay minette, alabama. oh, and by the way, after a call to the area game warden, it seems that the very considerate neighbor is well known to the men in green . **yes, we are proof positive about boundary lines. this land is very, very well taken care of (burned/cut) and property lines are painted. pete also made a call to the forester, who knows the land like the back of his hand, to confirm good neighbor was crossing lines.**

Sounds kind of like a place I used to hunt. Yeah nobody needs to cross you Brenda. Lol. Sounds like you and Thad need to take a walk and introduce yourself to your nice neighbor. Maybe you oughta bring a prickly pear plant for a gift.

There should always be corn in "his" shooting lane more than 100yds from your stands and inside your property line. Sounds like a real winner this guy.

I hate it for you. But I don't see you winning in this situation. He lives there and you can count on him retaliating for anything you do. I think I'd just have the wardens handle it.

I agree with AC870.I have stated it on here before."They are there when you ain't".Get the wardens on it and put out some cameras up high and facing the ground. If you piss them off yourself things like shooting houses can mysteriously catch on fire and food plots can mysteriously die.

Nothing better than folks who can't stay on their own property. Pond Scum like this need to have what little they own taken away from them & be locked away in prison so they learn not to mess with someone else's property. I bet the Indians are saying the same thing about us white folks.

Whooooeee, a decoy in the plot placed before sunrise, game cameras, a GW waiting ... could be a fun deal and bad for the neighbor. Good luck and go get 'em.

I hate it for you ,I've been in the same situation before. It all depends on if your lease is private land or company land.by law the neighbor could build a shooting house right on the line,or put a Stand in the tree with paint on it.but as most company land has a 50 yard curtious regularlation rule meaning you have to be 50 yards away from any property line.if you violate this you could lose your lease. But you are right about them baiting your feild.if you put up a camera, you might need to write the serial number down and make. In case it goes missing.what I would do if you have a camera that has quit working, put it out were the neighbor can see it they are gonna steal it every time, trick is hide a working camera watching the first camera you will catch them everytime.that is if it is a low glow Infrared camera as back up.the curt rule may have changed ,but that is the way it Used to be.company land has to many rules ,your not to put salt out,or feed corn or protein pellets can do is plant the original greenfield ain't supposed to make new fields unless in a loading area meaning were the timber company set up to load out logs.private land you can do as you wish,as long as you have land owner agreement.

I'm putting cameras everywhere. If you have signal - put ip cameras with motion sensors and record every move.

Is there any way you can hang a tarp between shooting house and plot ?

Is there any way you can hang a tarp between shooting house and plot ? He would cut it down. Clearly property rights and respect aren't in that individuals vocab.

Just poison that food plot and dont plant it. Dont give deer a reason to come out. If he puts feed out have him arrested. If you plant it he will hunt it.
