I had to get my son to move one out of my driveway. And I live in the city. Been all over my house eating a white oak in my front yard.

.... Interestingly, does will eat from the Redneck t-post feeder you see in the yard, but bucks won't have a thing to do with it.
Jerry, you have any ideas on why that may be? Combination of things. The feeder is new. Eating from a feeder can be more challenging due to antlers protruding. Bucks tend to be more wary than does. You might ask, "Then why does it work in Texas and high-fence operations?" The answer is because deer are conditioned to depending on feeders so that it becomes a learned behavior. I don't feed deer with regularity, so it never becomes part of their daily natural surroundings.

Slightly off subject buy my wife has taken some pics of some studs while at work off Riverchase Parkway. Even bigger ones that they have seen on the security cameras at night.
As far as my house, I have a huge white oak 15ft from my house. I rarely see them but see their tracks. One year I was off work for some reason during the week and had been seeing a spike in my back yard occasionally. I happened to be cleaning up the hunting room and looked out the window. There he stood 10ft from my house and inches from 2 vehicles eating those acorns. I've done some excavating since then and plan on putting a feeder back there where I can see them out my back door. I have no intention on shooting anything there BUT if the right one showed up I cant say that I wouldn't think about. In the mean time I've been having fun shooting crows eating my grass seed planted back there. Them suckers are as slick as a Thunderchicken.
If your decoy doesnt have holes in it, your not letting him get close enough... J.H.

A customer of mine in Huntsville has a corn feeder in his backyard. He showed me pictures of some absolute monsters that come into his yard. 150" type deer.

I put a camera in my parents backyard last year and was surprised at what I was getting on camera. They ate all my moms flowers so she started throwing corn out. My mom wouldn't have to worry about that one eating her flowers any more. Awesome deer

Jeep, post your mother's address. I'm sure a few aldeer folks will gladly evaluate the nuisance deer problem.

Not where I live now, but when I lived in Pennsylvania I would feed close to 100 pounds a week. When I went out to feed them I would rattle a coffee can of corn and they would come running down the mountain. My wife and daughter had names for most of them. I would have 10-12 in the yard every evening until the bears came in. Dang bears are pigs. I bought one of the molasses/corn blocks for the deer and me and the wife watched a big sow roll it down the hill and out of the yard. Went looking for it the next day and never did find it. Side note: black bears love nutter butter peanut butter cookies.
What you do today, you have to sleep with tonight.

I start in October and quit in February. Dang things will break you on purchasing corn. Have had as many as 12 in my postage stamp sized backyard. Easy bow range from the deck 25-30 yards but theses are just for looking at, no killing allowed. Would be very unsportsmanlike.
