I just do it for peace of mind. More of a confidence booster I guess. Plus it makes me get that much more ready. I always shoot the same from a stand as I do from the ground. Never had to make any adjustments. Do you use sights?

Yea. I don't shoot traditional. Ok. So I guess with sights dialed in, using those sights already compensates for the height in the stand. Not sure what exactly you are asking or implying...but as long as you keep exact form and like others have said bend at the waist your sights shouldn't be off at all. I hit the same poi from 20 foot up as I do on the ground as long as my form is correct. Sights don't have any different calculation for in a tree vs the ground. 40 yards is 40 yards. When you get into extreme angles things may get a little different and may be off a yard or two, but a compound is fast enough that it shouldn't change your poi enough to cause a miss...we are talking inches here not feet. Plus this is where arch range finders can come in handy. I have played with them before but like I said the yardages between a arch and regular rf were never really off enough to make me say man i got to have that instead of a regular rf.

I aim an inch or two lower on the deer if they are alert to compensate for the deer dropping down. Shooting at targets I aim the same though whether tree or ground.

After a morning hunt, I usually fling a field point at a dead leaf if I haven't shot in a couple of days also. I've always shot out of a tree stand before season.
