I don't know that it ever goes on sale but I can buy the same saws for about 20% less in TN than I can in AL. Seems to be across the board last time I priced saws.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

They don't have to put it on sale. That's what I'm thinking. Thanks guys! Maybe I can catch it on the tax free prepper weekend, if saws are included in that.

Still dealer days is just a marketing plan. Buy it from a dealer and get a six pack of synthetic oil. That will add a year to the engine warranty.
Also, only use non-ethanol gas. This will save you $$$ down the road.
The plan of buying stuff at lowe's and fixing it when it's broken is a serious waste of time. I know small engine mechanics that can fix anything and they don't buy that garbage.

Buy something cheaper, like Craftsman or a store product like Lowes and the savings will evaporate very quickly. If you don't mind tinkering and repairing things, you'll save money. what about the echo PAS ? Anyone have experience with it

I spent two weeks researching and shopping around, looking at the Stihl, Echo, and Husky. I think they're all fine quality (fans of each argue that their brand is best). Here's what I discovered and where I landed.
Stihl. Superb quality, has more vibration than the other two though. It's oddly priced about $150 higher than the other two for ZERO reason.
Echo. Some dealers told me it ain't the Echo of 10+ years ago, but it's still an Echo, a'ight. (I BOUGHT THE PAS 225 WITH WEEDEATER HEAD AND EDGER) You are getting 100% the same quality as Stihl (some would say even better), but for literally $150+ less. I got a price at my local independent store, but they didn't have it in stock, so I went to Home Depot and they price-matched (and had it on the shelf).
Husky. The "smoothest" of the three in hand, but heavy. I don't care what the online specs say, they're heaviest! Did feel less quality in hand too, and I could not find Husky attachments anywhere, only aftermarket stuff.
We were on the edge of Eternia, when the power of Greyskull began to take hold.

I am not trying to argue you here but there ain't no way you are getting 100% the same quality out of any brand of equipment that you buy out of a box store as you are with dealer only Stihl products. You may get a good product that serves your needs but it ain't no where near the 100% of the quality of Stihl. One thing is certain, what you stated and what I stated are both opinions!

Husqvarna is one you have to make sure if you are getting the real deal or not. It needs to have a small metal tag on it somewhere that says "Made in Sweden". That will be the tell all for quality. If it doesn't it's just made by MTD products most likely.
