So....I'm sitting here at my desk....working on some homework....when out of no where the room starts smelling like skunk. It wasn't super strong, and it seemed to go away after about 5 minutes...

Is it possible for a skunk to spray outside and it smell inside....or is it probably way worse and its in the crawl space or something?

Both the dogs are inside, and they started barking RIGHT before it started smelling. My main protective dog is pacing around, not happy, but no way I'm letting him out right now. Sundays are a little bit busy for me, don't want to deal with that right now.

Skunk probably walked past, and yes you can get a whiff of 'em outside when you're inside. If you have a crawl space you definitely don't want them under it.

I've smelled them many times just driving down the road.

Seen one in my neighborhood the other night. I double checked the lock on our crawl space.

When temps at night get into the 60s they either become more active and move around bridges/culverts around here or their scent dissipates easier at those temps, or both. That's usually when I see and smell them.

Yeah I've smelled plenty just driving around, but never while I'm inside my house. I'm PRETTY positive our crawlspace is all locked up, but there is always that one random thing I don't know about and somehow one got in there. I'm going to bank on the, it just walked by, theory.

Side note: Learning Koine Greek is not easy when your dogs are going insane and the air smells like skunk butt.

Haha. A friend of mine told me once he was bowfishing with some guys. He shot a beaver in the chest. It went crazy and the guy asked him what he was gonna do now? He said " I ain't doing nothin, it's your bow" and handed it to him.

I've smelled them in Alabama but have never seen one here. Now I'usually see probably twenty road kills of them on every trip I've been on to Kentucky.

There are two kind of skunk smells out there.

If one walks by or sprays your central unit will draw it in pretty easily. You smoke one near the unit you had best be ready for a mess.
