Academy has the Rios on sale for 54.90 a case. They had the Rem heavy dove load for 59.90 last week, but bumped them up to 69.00. I am not a shotgun connoisseur by any means, but the Rios seem to be a better wheel just on the box data (which I realize may not be accurate). But the Rios seemed to have the same amount of shot at 100-150fps faster than the Rem. I realize Rems shot may be more uniform, or use a better wad etc. I know last year I was in a pretty crappy spot on the field, and didn't get a lot of opportunity but the estates didn't do worth a crap.

I'll never shoot Rios again. I despise them. Any other 1 ounce load in 6 shot will work for me. I usually wind up with Remington

I don't think there's a better 20ga dove load out there than the Rio's. Always had great luck with them. I also swapped to them in my 20 when I use it duck hunting. I went from shooting Hevimetals to Rio's in my 20ga for ducks and have never looked back. They make an excellent shell

6 shot for doves? I've never heard of anyone using shot that big. I figure 7.5s-9 for dove and quail.

Kinda what I thought too. Heck I use #6 on ducks sometimes. Kinda overkill on doves. Don't think I know of anyone that shoots 6's for doves

I have seen a fella shooting 6's, but he was trying to sky bust all of them.

Its odd I know but for whatever reason I like to shoot the 6's over anything. Ill buy some 7.5's incase the birds are lighting on the barrel but most of the time thats not the case for me. Its an added bonus to have the 6's left over for tree rats.
