I had a nice drop tine nine point on the property last year. My question is, Will his rack grow back the following year as a drop or possibly normalize?

Once a drop tine always a drop tine, no wait; that's a spike . I'm not sure, but I'm thinking he will keep that trait till maybe he goes down with age. rolleyes

I have never personally seen one lose it as they age but have seen them get smaller in old age.

Never can tell. I've seen known bucks grow them one year and not the next, swap sides, etc.

One deer doesn't make a pattern, BUT we had pictures of a buck (nicknamed Zoltar) on our lease many years ago who had split brow tine on his right side and a drop tine (actually it was what I called a sideways kicker off main beam) on the other side. Very specific and identifiable buck, he had a weird shaped "pointed" throat patch. Got pics of him on what we called "white oak hill" that year, then the next year he was totally clean. No split brow nor kicker.

Not related to topic, but had pics of him in the morning the two consecutive days prior to bow season opening, then never got another picture of him the rest of season (nor saw him). The next year when he was clean, the same thing happened. The ONLY pictures we got were the week prior to bow season, then never again.

We were on the edge of Eternia, when the power of Greyskull began to take hold.

This is him. This was taken in an area of the property I call The Singles Bar.

Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many!

I had pics of a 3 year old main frame 8 two years ago that had a nice drop tine. Last year, no drop and this year no drop.
