Do any of you tie in nock points on your string in addition to your D-loop?
I'm putting new strings and cables on today and wanted opinions.

My bow guy tied one in for me. I wouldn't have it any other way. If I need to replace my d-loop, I can tie it on without worrying about it being in the right spot.

I guess the only benefits I can see is; d loop won't slip up or down, keep d loop from nock pinch.

Sometimes I will tie a main one on, but I will always tie one on just below the arrow nock. It keeps the bottom d-loop knot from pinching the nock. It also allows the top knot to put down pressure on the a arrow. That's an old trick I learned from the days of shooting a TM Hunter style rest. If the d-loop pinched the nock it would lift the arrow off the rest prongs when you drew. Also a bow tunes better if there's a little bit of down pressure on the arrow. I never use serving material for an upper nock point. It will wear over time and change your nock height. I use Marlin braid Dacron fishing line.

Thanks for the info. Cables and strings are on. I had to take some twists out of my control cable to get the cams in time. The top of the top cam is leaning to the left, I put a couple of twists in the right side of the buss cable "Y". I need to get it on a draw board to see what the lean looks like at full draw.
I bought a bowmaster portable press with the split limb / parallel adapters and it works great. 75$ was a bargain for me. Now I can tune in my bow without taking it to a shop. Heads up if anyone is needing an inexpensive press.
