This one looks like it could get serious for someone...way to far out to tell if its an issue for us.

I've been looking at it today. The GFS is blowing it up into a biggun in the gulf. But that model seems to lie more often than not. Tis the season.

Well know more in 4-5 days. Hopefully this little N front coming into the SE US will be enough high pressure to deflect it from the gulf states. Even though we need it in N bama til late Sept I sure don't want our neighbors in Louisiana to have to deal with anything even looking tropical.

GFS & Euro both are on board with this storm posing a threat to Florida next weekend.

Latest ensemble models look a little scary as of now. Still time to change. Let's hope it does.

what exactly am I looking at? Are these all predicted paths of the same storm by different models? Historic paths of storms for this date?

That's the current projection of the same storm by about a dozen different models.

The more southerly track the more likely we need to worry in the SE. Hope for a recurve

At the moment this storm looks like it will be a non-issue. Unless something changes, its a fish...which is good.

Only affect the fish in the ocean. Not expected to make landfall.

Some of the latest model runs have it turning into the gulf. Now the Euro is on board with this scenario as well. Still too far out to put stock into these models.

Starting to think we actually may see some action from this one now.....if all these models are correct that is. Lots of folks are comparing this one to hurricane Erin already.

I look at tropicaltidbits.com for the most reliable models. spaghettimodels.com is a good site to look at. Mike keeps all the info you could possibly want about the tropics there.

So what's the status of this thing? Heading into the gulf or not(based on all models)?

Most models are curving it up the East coast.
