Isn't this a G5 Montec? Inherited a few when I bought my gently used bow last January. What's y'all's opinion on these? How do you sharpen 'em, just run 'em across a flat stone? I have these and Snuffers. Both shot pretty well in testing today. I may not buy new broad heads after all.

Everybody's big complaint about the Montecs is that they are hard to sharpen. G5 makes a special sharpener to use with these. Every deer I've ever shot with them has died and bleed well in the process. Unless you hit shoulder or miss and hit a rock you can reuse as needed.

I have the G5 sharpening stone and I've never had an issue with them not being sharp. I killed half a dozen or so deer with them. I've been shooting slick tricks the last 6 years but my montecs are still in my archery box.

I shoot them in 100 grain. They fly just like the practice points for me.

My big complaint is they make to much noise when they have some speed behind them...

I use the crossbow ones. They shoot great and I've never had a problem sharpening them. Use a big mill bastard file and push them down the cutting teeth.
