I got my bow out of the shop Tuesday afternoon, shot it about 30 times between then and today. This afternoon I was about to shoot it for the 7th time today, at full draw and; BOOM!!!!! The bow exploded on me. About 8 weeks ago I dropped the bow off to have it worked on, picked it up and went home and on the 3rd shot the top limbs cracked. Took it back to them and 3 weeks later picked it up only to find that PSE had sent 50-60lb limbs instead of the 70lb limbs, so I took it back and now this.

slap

I think you're right shaw, either that or one with an STD, it has been one thing after another, the whole reason I took it to them in the first place was that there was some pretty bad cam lean, they said that the cams were not synched/timed, that's when I took it home and the limbs cracked. Glad that it didn't do any damage to me, just destroyed the bow and snapped an Easton FMJ.

Either PSE is that bad or you're not doing anything right.

I still can't figure out how my limbs cracked the first time, just had a new string put on, before taking it to them for the cam lean. Shot it around 3 times and heard the crack.
So far everything has gone good with the Hoyt though, better watch it, may jinx myself.

Don't know if it's me (don't see how, didn't have any issues with my PSE Stinger and I shot it more than the Decree that just exploded), the bow, or the people working on the bow.

Glad you weren't hurt. I would distance myself from all the problem bows you have, though.

Yeah, I think you're right. I will be taking this bow(riser) for warranty, I am going to be a little afraid to shoot it again. I just don't know, I never had any trouble from my Stinger X, but I also know that none of the shops that worked on the Decree ever touched the Stinger.

Anyone have a suggestion on this, I can't see throwing away $1000. bow, but I really don't know if I should look for another bow shop, or give up on PSE.

I know some guys that shoot PSE and they don't have issues. I personally would find another shop if it were me just because of the confidence level I would have in them

Or you could but one of my 3 Mathews and be done with that bull.

That is what I am leaning toward but I will no doubt have to deal with them for this issue. If the bow is repaired/replaced I most likely will not let them touch it and will have to pay someone else to set it up. I am not sure if another PSE dealer would do the warranty repair/replace or not.

Look. You need to have warranty repair it, then sell that pos on archery talk and never touch another one of those pos again.

Man, that's some bad luck. I think I would call PSE and ask them to take a look at it. Maybe they can dissect it and figure out the cause of limb failure.

I have shot a PSE Dream Season Evo for 5yrs and I wouldn't trade it for anything else. I LOVE mine. I would look into another bow shop, first.

I am SCARED of Hoyts for the same reason. I had 2 different Hoyts limbs crack, and never could get them to shoot worth a crap after getting new limbs installed and new strings. Seen a friend with a Carbon Element ($1,400 bow) limbs crack within 6 weeks and that is supposed to be their Cadillac Bow. Needless to say I am scared of Hoyts now.

Well I called HDC and PAt wasn't there so I tried to speak to Nathan, he was busy so the girl took my name and number and reason for calling(I'm on my run to NC the next several days) That was at 8:05 am and I have yet to hear from them and this is the second that has happened. I called up Archery Unlimited and talked to Rick then called my wife and had her take the bow to him.

I have a pse evo and it shoots great, killed a doe last year with it. I'd be wondering if they hurt the limbs in the press. In my manual it says that's there is a certain press that is required with the x force limbs. I've seen them in regular presses too so idk

I am thinking the same thing, they have a new guy working there that is supposed to be their Hoyt specialist, he worked on my Decree at first but couldn't get it right(at least that was what I was told) then Pat. That was when the top limbs cracked and had to take it back, what are the odds though that it was the top limbs that exploded while the bottom limbs are intact?

The bow shoots great when it's not having strings cut by someone tying peep sights in wrong or limbs exploding/cracking.

This is just my opinion, but I would rather shoot a 10 yr old Mathews than a brand new PSE. I started out bow hunting with a PSE years ago, and it almost ran me off before I bought a decent rig.

Sounds like the limbs got damaged in the press to me, like mentioned. I hate you've had the luck you've had though.

I'll say this about my experience with HDC in Calera, clusterfu_k!!!
Dropped a shotgun off for simple gunsmith work, drill and tap 2 holes , was quoted an amount and 2 week turn around. I gave it 3 weeks then made first call and was told they're behind, ok no problem.
2 more weeks go by and I call again, and I'm told it hasn't been touched, at this time I've either been lied to or my gun is not bringing in big dollars for their time so it's pushed back in the corner again. So I politely told them if it cannot be completed in the next 2 days then I'll just come get it, the fellow in the gunshop assures me he'll have it completed the very next day, I give it 2 complete days and stop in to pick up the gun and pay for the work, well the little fellow that runs the counter goes and gets it and comes at me with some bullchit about how the gun tech said the weaver 336 bases I provided them with weren't sturdy enough for that gun???? I'm like "you serious clark"? Where's the cameras cause I know I'm being punked?
But no he was serious, and said the gunsmith didn't want to work on the gun, that would have been a good answer 6 weeks ago and if he hadn't already took a center punch and made his starter dents on my damn receiver.
So keep this in mind, just because a store can run a commercial, doesn't mean they can back it up or give any resemblance of customer service or communication. I hope for their sake they didn't sign a long term lease, cause that chit hole will be TITS UP soon. My 2 cents slap

Sounds like they weren't using the proper press. Not sure of all the technicalities but PSE requires certain presses and they are listed on their website. I suppose others might work but who knows, I don't have a PSE.

Yeah that pretty much sums them up, I tried to give them a chance multiple times but this is it, they will never get a penny from me again.
