Friends, I'm new to to Alabama, Birmingham more specifically, from the land of the giants. I'm a lifelong whitetail fanatic, and I love quality taxidermy. For whatever it's worth, I'm not into what a deer may score as opposed to what he represents hanging on my wall. I'm an artist at heart, and I have a deep respect for what it takes to produce a true quality mount, even though I've not the stomach to produce such work. Plus, I have two young blooming hunters in my house that will embark on their first deer seasons this fall. Anything killed -- and a I mean anything -- will qualify for a shoulder mount based upon their expectations. I'm on a budget, but when it comes to preserving memories, I'll pay for quality. Any suggestions? Here's my young killers (son and daughter) ... And no, I didn't pull the trigger on either of these birds.

If you want to drive about 100 miles North to Jackson County, we have two great ones. Stan Gross , some say he's the best all around in the US, doesn't matter if it swims, walks or flies or what continent it came from he can make it look real. He stays backed up because he's in high demand.
There's also Chris McCarver, he trained under Stan.
Both are full time taxidermists. I have work by both. I think they both have web sites or face book pages.

Surprised nobody has mentioned Charles Brown; Artistic Whitetails in West Blocton. Does nice work; got one there now. Charles does good work for certain , I said Joel because he is a lot closer to Bham.

But that's just from reading between the lines on here.
