Been looking for a rifle scope for my new Browning BLR 308. I really like the Swarovski Z3 scope. Clarity was awesome, lightweight, and the eye relief is perfect for me. Almost pulled the trigger on one at BPS. I went online to compare prices and most sites say that they have discontinued the rifle scopes. The Swarovski website just says they are unavailable "online" in this country. Do any of you know the story ? Should I reconsider if they are discontinuing their line ?

Z3 is a popular scope for them. I would be shocked if they discontinued them. I picked up one a Mike's Outdoors in Pensacola last month. Might talk to them about it.

That's what I have on my 270 but I wanted something different and really liked the Z3. If it's going out - I'll go to the Leupold

I don't see why Swarovski would be cancelling the Z3 line. They haven't been out that long. Maybe they are but this is the first I've heard of it.

That being said, even if they are cancelling, there would be no reason not to buy one. There isn't a better warranty than Swarovksi's and in the event something happened to the scope, it would be covered. They still warranty scopes that are 50+ years old.

It's still listed in their website.

Tit for tat.
Envelope or envelope.
Tomatoe or tomatoe.
Potatoe or potatoe.

That should be clear as mud.

That being said,'I've only actually compared Two. It was a 4-12 Swaro and a 3-10 Meopta. They were very close but at extreme last light the Swaro was just a tad more crisp.

I've seen a couple Swarovski's with grease specks in the lens, for this type money this should never happen. I will never own one myself for this very reason. I'll stay with Zeiss, Leupold

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

The Z-3's are swarovski's low end entry level scope. I bought a 4-12x50 a couple years ago and was very disappointed with it. The good folks at camera land let me send it back for a full refund even after I had mounted it. .........they said it was a pretty common occurrence for folks to be dissatisfied with them.

Have (3) of the Swaro AV series ; predecessor to Z3, not sure there is much if any difference. Have a 3-10x42 and (2)4-12x50 and would not hesitate to buy another; Never had a problem. One of the 4-12x50 has been mounted on my Sako Model 75 for 10 years. Take it out before hunting season and shoot a group to confirm sill on and have never needed to move it more than a click or 2. Also, probably the lightest 50mm objective you can buy; at 14.5 ozs.

Wow, that really surprised me. I've looked through Swarovski's binos and they're the best I've ever seen.
