Friend of mine hunts them with traditional archery and loves it.
That's really doable for sure. I've thought about getting another recurve to hunt with. I'd say most shots are less than 30yds for the most part. The 5 shots that I've taken have all been under 35yds, shortest being 22yds. I've had bulls to 8yds but, no shot. Pretty much the same for the guys I discuss elk hunting here with. I will sling one farther if I have to though.
