I went on a charity hunt when I was 18, Sumpter Co Lurleen Wallace Cancer Charity hunt at Bellamy. I'd of thought Lurleen Wallace was a toddler when you were 18. Childhood cancer of some sort?

thank you Mr.Game warden whoever you were because after that day deer hunting became much more than a hobby it is my way of life. This is the difference between common sense and helping teach a lesson in a good way that, obviously, October has remembered for many years. Had the GW gone the other way, given a citation or something else, it could have soured you, your friend and maybe your father for a long time. Good stories here and a good, honest debate for sure.

Childhood cancer of some sort? funny Lurleen Wallace died in 1968 of cancer, when I was 17. There was a fundraiser for cancer hunt in dec 69 or Jan 70 at Bellamy.
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

How many people have helped a friend track a wounded deer and when you walked up on it whoever was closest or quickest finished it off? It`s still your friends deer. Now on public land whoever finished it off should lay claim in my opinion. Simply because you just never know the mindset of some people over a deer and it`s not worth what could happen when 2 strangers start arguing over a deer in the middle of the woods with loaded guns. I've killed 3 this way. I let them claim them. But when they tell the story they have include the fact their buddy can shoot a pistol better than they can shoot a rifle.lol
