Shocking and nasty, I have a couple of older black friends who will never eat any food with red sauce like spaghetti, lasagna, etc that was cooked by a woman that's not their wife or woman close to them. I asked why and they told me that some women will cook their menuastration in with the spaghetti and if you eat it, you are hooked and all you can think about is her. I work with a black lady who said her Dad wouldn't eat any red sauces even cooked by his wife because of this. From the research that I have found, it stems back to some sort of voodoo in an effort to keep black men faithful to their women.

Distasteful? I find it distasteful when folks from elsewhere come to America and start bashing our customs, history and culture or trying to change the Constitution because their homeland supposedly did it better and they don't like what it and the Bill of Rights affirm. If you don't like it, get out or shut up, or both.

I think we turned out to be the most powerful, wealthiest nation that is responsible for 80% of the greatest inventions throughout history because we do things differently.

I saw your location and thought that is where you were raised...
Not surprising either way... Come again?

I've been to St Maarten. Yeah they is different down there. Pretty cool folks though. Went to Tintamarre and saw 70 year old folks walking around on the beach nude. Took a couple of shots of jger to get used to it. I never experienced true culture shock till I went to Jamaica though. That's about the only place I don't care to go back to.

I worked on St. Croix for the better part of a year in and out every two weeks or so. There is a reason why the cruise ships hardly ever stop there any more. I will say I do like some Cruzan rum though. Once you bid a project on St. Croix you have to double the rate for Island time frame of mind as well.
From the beer drinking hog's in the rain forest to the eastern most point of the US in the desert. St. Croix is an interesting place for sure. Taj Mahal performing in Fredericsted was definitely a block party.

Can't believe no one has mentioned this but here's one that's as nasty as it gets. In Mexico, the sewer/septic systems are horrible and clog very easily. Therefore, when they wipe their rump, they don't flush the toilet paper. They put it in a garbage can, even ones with no lid, that is kept next to the toilet. This is so instilled in them that many of them continue to do this here in America. I used to work for a company that had a pretty good bit of them working there as well. No matter what we did we couldn't get them to stop doing this. Finally we designated one of the four toilets for their use only and told them they were responsible for keeping it clean. We never went in theirs and they never went in ours.

I lived on a boat with an on-board treatment system for half a decade and still try to put the paper in the trash can occasionally. Especially if I've had an adult beverage.

Grossed me out. I've actually quit eating at ALL Mexican places in Gville now and go to Rosie's for my Mexican and Chili's for my TexMex.

From the research that I have found, it stems back to some sort of voodoo in an effort to keep black men faithful to their women. My grandmamma's neighbor and best friend in Thibodaux Louisiana was a black lady and told her that black women will also put their piss in the pot of greens when they cook them if they think their man is being unfaithful. I remember when I was a kid that Miss LayLay wore a chicken foot necklace. She was big time into voodoo so I wouldn't ever go to her house for fear she would put a spell on me.
