Well, here we go again. You may remember that a few months ago I had issues with me PSE Decree and some strings that were cut. It began with a Specialty Archery peep sight that was tied in to a relatively new set of strings. I took the bow to have something done to it and they pointed out that my strings had been cut. After they replaced the strings they tied the peep sight back in and sure enough within the week the string was cut.

I contacted Specialty Archery and they sent me a new peep sight and instructions on how to properly tie their peep sights in to avoid cutting the strings (the bow shop told me that it was a defective sight).
Now I bought a 2016 Hoyt Defiant last month and had them tie in the new S.A. peep sight, I showed them the email with the instructions and the video which we watched on my phone. He tied the sight in but said he didn't think that it would hold so he was going to tie it in like a regular sight. Now I thought well the other sight was supposedly defective and this guy should know what he's talking about.

Well today I shoot my bow and notice... yep you guessed it, peep sight is cutting my string.

Can you post some pics of it on here so we can see how the peep was tied in?

Yes, please do this. Get you a RAD or a Fletcher and you won't have to worry about it. In my 20+ years of setting up bows, I've never had a peep sight cut a string.

That's the weirdest looking peep I've ever seen. What made you choose it?

Sorry pics just didn't turn out but if you look you can see that he tied it above the peep, ran the serving down one side, tied around the peep and then down the opposite side and finished with another knot below the peep. If you are looking at the picture, the string is cut on the top side below the sight.

Yeah, think I'm done with S.A. even if it's not the fault of the sight, apparently nobody at the bow shops know how to tie one in. Hoping to get my own press next year and then I can take care of this myself.

I liked the fact that their 1/4 sight is actually a little larger if you don't have the lens screwed in which goes good with my IQ bow sight.

Post a link to their video for tying it in. This is how I tie mine in. I want zero chance that it can be moved.

10-4. It looks like the little hood would hinder the light gathering ability in low light.

I've never seen one tied like that. Kinda like it. One thing you have to watch on the larger peeps is making sure you don't close the string bundle too close to the sight. Doing so will put too much pressure on the bowstring and also run the risk of deforming the peep. Your's doesn't appear to be closed too close. Question, have you been sliding your peep up or down?

The version he has doesn't have the hood. The hood comes in handy on a target set up to eliminate glare on the peep.

No, I don't touch things that I don't know how, or have the equipment to work on them.

sbo1971, are you taking the insert out from the bottom or top? Could that be cutting your string? I have two SP peeps and have used them on three different bows with no problems. Mine is installed so that I can take the insert out from the top.

The insert has never been put in, it was left out at the shop.
