Starting to get irritated.

Shooting 8-10 yards, using white roll type paper and the arrow is clearing before hitting the target. I cant seem to get a consistant bullet hole.

Ive been back and forth with target shooting and checking it on paper because Im not getting the consistancy I want. 30yds is 4-6" and often times you can tell the arrows are going in at different angles. by 40 yards they are pretty straight on but 6" groups. Ive shot plenty better at these ranges and farther...starting to get pizzed!

HELP!

I have both the Victory buckbusters 60/75 and Carbon X terminators 60/75 and shooting equally as chitty!

Ive check everything for tightness, havent changed a thing, release, etc..

EDIT:

Just maxed the draw out (70#s) and it shot 5 arrow group @ 30 about 2.5"

Start a little closer to the paper and make sure you are shooting on level plane. Also download "The Easton Tuning Guide" if you haven't already. It will teach you almost anything you need to know about tuning your bow.

The same thing was happening to my bro n law last year until I noticed he was shootong level one time and then he'd have his bow tilted downward on his next shot.

Your arrows may be underspined. Try drastically dropping point weight and see if it helps. Either that or back the bow down to 60lbs and try again.

What length is your arrow and what's your point weight. Paper tuning is overrated. You don't have to have a perfect bullet hole for consistent flight and accuracy. I very rarely paper tune. Normally my bows will have a slight high right tear if I check them after I walk back tune. If you're shooting fixed heads, paper tuning will normally only get you In the neighborhood. You have to micro tune your rest to get your field points and fixed heads to impact together. When I tune a bow for someone, I stand behind them and watch their arrows to see if they are fish tailing (which would indicate the center shot is off) or porpoising (which would indicate the nock height is off).

There are a lot of people that cannot shoot a perfect bullet hole no matter what because of their form. If you torque or cant the bow the slightest bit it will show up on paper. I spent about 2 hours one day with someone trying to paper tune their bow. I would adjust the bow and get them close only to have them start tearing the opposite way. I kept telling him he was torquing the bow and grabbing the grip upon release, but he swore up and down he wasn't. I could shoot the bow and get a bullet hole every time, but he never could.

Thanks guys...Shaw I spoke with a buddy past night that shoots a ton more than me and a lot of 3D.

He explained the walk back method and said he doesn't trust paper either as there are too many variables like you mentioned...everyone shoots different. I tried it and got it REAL close but it started getting late and I could tell I was getting tired so I quit for the evening. Will continue this afternoon but I got it about perfect I'm sure just started getting shaky.
