I heard some rumors just this morning. If true and I was associated with Edgewood, I would distance myself quickly. Others here know laws much better than me but I could see others (school and board members) that know and are not saying anything as seen as covering up.

I don't have a dog in the fight, but if these rumors were true, why wouldn't they have fired him rather than allowing him to resign? It almost sounds like they are butthurt their coach walked on them and are slinging mud.

Forced to resign or being fired? Those are simply words with the same end game except one is when the person knows he has no other recourse but it is in his best interest to resign and not fight it and hope it blows over and is kept quiet.

From an HR standpoint, it is much easier to allow someone to resign than to fire them, especially if the reason is so ugly it would be a black eye on your organization also as Centala says, others MAY have some culpability, but probably and hopefully, not. The school certainly could as an entity though be liable. IF, if, if, rumors are true. It is possibly he was leaving and now there are some serious sour grapes.

That's a head scratcher to me,only thing I can think of is his son being a Senior this year.I figured he would try to move up,but I don't think aNY body really wants "THE BAGGAGE" that comes with him

Yesterday I would have said "NO." Today I'm not as confident with that "NO." This thing is taking a lot of turns and twist that are leaving some scratching their heads. I just don't know what to make of it all.

Like I said, I have no clue what's going on and don't have any inside knowledge. I was just speaking from my point of view what it looked like.

No one will since it involves very plausible, but yet still unsubstantiated rumors that are very sensitive in nature. As to Clems question, there are no rumors of shady finances involved. The other part, you may be headed in the right direction.

You guys have beat around the bush enough without saying it but the insinuation is clear enough.I know Bobby and while I'm not willing to say it's impossible Bobby was in the wrong , I'd be much more inclined to believe the school was probably at fault, here. I doubt Bobby was messing with a student as has been insinuated but I just wish the people that love the drama and keeping the rumour going would remember he has a family and a kid that is seeing all of it.

We used to beat autauga academy like a drum. But that was 20 years ago. Hope they are better now. Bill and John brown was their only good players.

Bill, you are correct. Bad rumors, true or not. I graduated from Autauga Academy and still support them. I want to know the kind of people my money is being spent on. Unlike taxes, I have a choice here if I don't approve of the type people. Therefore, I would like to know. I had been told the Autauga deal was in the works several days ago. I know others that support the school were in an uproar before this started over other things. If this blows up, Autauga could be in trouble.

I would agree. Autauga appears to want to win...and the glory. It all started with OJ Howard. As far as I know, Howard was good kid. Good grades and stayed out of trouble. Good parents. But the people around the school got a taste of big name coaches calling, coming by, putting them on the map. They want the glory back. Carr probably could get them there.

That was my point . And I forgot about my ole buddy Stan Hallman too!

Edgewood was a doormat until about 2001 or so. If I'm not mistaken, that's about the time Carr showed up.
