I wish I would have known and I would have looked you up. I have a friend that works for the foundation and was down there visiting a couple weeks ago. We were fortunate enough to get to see them go up for the first time since the accident. Since it was unannounced, there wasn't a crowd. I got to watch them around lunch from the top of the lighthouse. It was cool to say the least.

Okay, no earplugs. If the Friday practice is as good I may do that instead of Saturday. May check on if anyone rents spots on a boat/barge. Thanks for all the advice. This is one of the few things on my bucket list.

I'm not going to lie, I get a little bit of a freedom boner watching these. This is why the beach show is one of the best, if not the best.

Anything that rents for that weekend might be available next year. You can just about forget finding anything that rents and is not rented...(99.99% on that) If you find something for this year, it is probably a scam...especially a house on the beach.

Agreed. Bookings for the beach air show are a year in advance kind of affair.

watched them practice last week. the practices werent back to normal yet so you had to watch from the parking lot and they didnt do the autograph session. they were still only flying 5. still one of the most awesome things I have ever seen. the museum folks were giving the impression that they wouldnt be doing the full practice/autograph routine for a while yet and probably wouldnt fly shows any more this year. glad to hear they will be back sooner.

Go with the flow and you will end up down the drain!

We left the camp last Wednesday and drove down to Pensacola and I guess they were practicing. We found a place to park and watched for a while. Not sure who was more amazed,me or the kids. I would love to see the actual show. The chick fela down there had a memorial up for the #6 pilot. Thought that was pretty awesome.

Yeah, next time you're in the area, let me know.

Pretty much what all has been said in the responses. Blues breed traffic. Be it on the roads or in the water it gets crazy. Like Driveby said, if you come to a practice on base during the week, not near as bad.

When they get back to normal operations, you can meet the pilots at the Naval Aviation Museum on Thursdays after practice.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

We went last year. Drove down for the day and watched from the airfield. Had a great time and the crowds weren't too bad. Most folks gathered around the fences, we just got behind them and setup our lawn chairs and watched the show. The only thing we didn't get a good view of because we weren't close to the fences was the race between the jet truck and a Lamborghini.

Sounds like that's the show they do over the airbase, I believe in November. This is a different show that's over Pensacola Beach.

Yep. And they'll do a practice beach show on that Friday too.

We were anchored up in the bay last year right out side of Little Sabine and noticed a big RV on the bridge before the show. He ended up watching the entire show from that same spot on the bridge.

I see them every week, they fly over our office practicing weekly.

2 good spots to see "some" of the show without traffic are the Oar House Restaurant and Mac's Marina. You will not see the entire show, but see a good bit of it. Mac's Marina actually is straight across the bayou from the runway, so you can watch them take off and land

We've been by boat a few times, there's a lagoon off Pensacola Bay just west of the 98 bridge. About waist high water, perfect for watching and staying cool. Just don't have too may brews and let the tide go out on you...

Also have been to a practice at the NAS and the museum, it's really interesting and lots to see.

Quailman, do you know what type radio and frequency is needed to listen to them? It's really neat to listen to the lead pilot. "a little puuuuuuuuuuuuuullllllllllllll BREAK"
