Hey guys,

Have any of y'all had any experience with this kennel in Cullman? I'm heading up this weekend to look at a couple of pups and wanted to see if anyone had any experiences. The labs in the pics are good looking dogs. I know this probably fits better on the Dog Forum but wanted to get the most visibility. Thanks for your feedback.

Ask if the dogs have health clearances would be my number one. Ofa hips and elbows. Eic and cnm clear. Ask to look At pedigree if your wanting a hunting dog and not just a pet if there are no field bred dogs in the pedigree tread softly. looks is always just a bonus in my opinion. A dog who can perform well in the blind or a trial that is ugly all of the sudden looks real good when he out hunts bubbas blocky lab. Lol

My girlfriends family owns, http://rockspringslab.com in Blountsville.
It is extremely clean and well run.
Puppies and mothers do not touch dirt until they're out of the parvo prone stage.

Those are some cute little rascals. I don’t know anything about that kennel but I agree with what was said. Those dogs look really blocky. They really exhibit the English traits. If you’re wanting a hunting lab then that’s something to consider.

Definitely make sure they are OFA or PennHip certified. It tells me that a breeder is serious about having nice dogs. It is important to note that an OFA pass does not rule out the possibility of elbow/hip dysplasia, but it is a pretty reliable indicator on the heritability and probability the dog will develop joint abnormalities. If someone ever tells you they have a OFA certified dog that's less than 2 years old tell them they are full of it, OFA won't certify until 24 months. You can do a preliminary before then, but it doesn't mean much.

Thanks guys for the info. I'm not worried about hunting ability, just a good family pet.
