What's the best way to go about getting a great satellite map of my hunting property. We just had some clear cutting done so it needs to be current and it would be nice if it had topo lines.

If it cost more than a drone get one of those. or have a buddy with one come out and shoot some.

When you say "it needs to be current", like within a year or within the last few months? If it needs to be really current, you're probably gonna have to hire someone to fly it and photograph it for you. It is worth checking all the satellite images you can find online. I know for a fact that Google updates our club property twice in a 9 month period in the past, so you never know when they may update the image of your tract.

I have always used bing, Terra server, land voyage, or Google earth. One of them will have the most up to date maps. I used bingmaps until Google earth finally updated theirs. You can purchase maps from them or if you want to do it cheap, for the aerial, on Google earth I just print out the entire property at the same eye elevation and tape the pieces of paper together on the front and back side with scotch tape, then mark the stand locations and laminate it with clear packing tape, then I tape that to a 3' square piece of painted steel sheet metal that is hanging in our camp. I have rare earth magnets with cut out pieces of aluminum super glued to them that has all the names of the guys in our club on em. When we sign out to hunt, we put our magnet exactly on the spot where we will be just in case we need to go lookin for someone.

Thanks for the advice guys. The sheet metal and magnet thing is a great idea. Alot better than the ole thumb tack deal. They just finished cutting in the last 2 weeks so it might be a bit till I can get Google Earth image. I'm guessing I can go to a kinkos to get a 3×3 or so printed? I would like to get something nice to stair at for hour on in trying to figure out where to go. All advice is much appreciated .
