Are any of you guys interested in shooting it this year? Right now only 43 have signed up. The rules have changed and you can use a rangefinder and will also have yardage markers on the range. You can use any brand arrow and bow speeds up to 330 fps.

That's what I was thinking. I think they changed the rules trying to get more people interested. The speed limit rule helped the long draw shooters but hurt use short folks.

I don't care about the speed limit. Going to known yardage is stupid. Gonna be nothing but a dot shoot now.

Yep. No qualifiers either. Everybody against everybody from the beginning. 3 rounds and cut to 24. 2 more rounds and cut to 12. One round cut to 8. 8 go head to head. All rounds scores are added to your total.

Just got an email tonight that the speed limit has been changed back to 300 fps.

It won't exactly been known yardage, There will be 4 yardage markers (20,30,40,50) scattered through the range but you still have to figure out what the exact yardage of each target is. It's just gonna be another tool that the shooters can use, kinda like when you use reference points from your tree stand when you are actually hunting.

Use of binoculars is allowed anytime during the competition. Range Finders may be brought into range and used anytime also. Archers knowing distance is not a concern of Buckmasters Archery Team, but the Shooting Sequence being unknown is a major issue.
This tells me that it will be known distance. You wont have to use their yardage markers if you have a rangefinder.
