Not yet. I'm a little concerned about his concentration span when we finally do hunt birds. Our back yard is more or less a bird sanctuary and he's absolutely crazy about them. He sees one fly over and off he goes chasing ...
There's a place just over the line in Tennessee that does a European style pheasant and they allow folks that are training their dogs to bring them along and help retrieving. I might try that here in a few months and see how he does

My favorite quote from a book about dogs that I read was "everyone gets the dog that they deserve". I think that holds a lot of truth. If your dog is great, it's because you took the right approach and spent the proper time with him. If your dog is not great, it's because we failed in our training. The dog was just being a dog.
