Hey Guys. This good looking 5 month old young man is Gus Chisenall. Gus has been in the hospital the past five weeks. The first four at Erlanger Children's Hospital in Chattanooga. He was being treated for a severe respiratory infection. He endured pneumonia, collapsed lungs, chest tubes and lots more. He has since been transferred to Children's Hospital in Cincinnati where he has been diagnosed with "Severe Combined Immunodeficiency Disorder, for those of us old enough to remember, "Boy In The Plastic Bubble Syndrome". Gus will require a stem cell (bone marrow) transplant in order to have a chance to survive and lead a normal life. His three year old big sister is the best hope for a donor match. Test are pending now to determine if she is indeed a match. Gus will have to remain in the hospital in Cincinnati for at least 100 days after the transplant. Gus' dad is a logger. If he doesn't work he doesn't get paid. Our church is sponsoring a singing/auction/cookout June 18 from 11:00 am until whenever (scheduled until 5:00pm) for Gus and his family. WE have a great line-up of singers who have donated their time and talent. No admission will be charged and all food is free. WE are hoping for a tremendous response in donations and a great turnout! Prayers sent.

We were at Jackson Co having our baby boy last Thursday thru Saturday. Friday morning they had a bake sale in the lobby for this little feller. Our nurses got some sweets from us and from the looks of what was left compared to what they started with it was a success. This is a sad situation, prayers sent.

Sure is, but The Good Lord is still in control!!!!

I hope to be there and prayers for sure.

Update!!!!! Prayers are being answered for Gus. Just got word that his three year old sister is a PERFECT match for the stem cell (bone marrow) transplant!!!!

Here is the message from his mother:

From Becca: "Gus has hyper igm which requires a bone marrow transplant. Once he receives the bone marrow transplant and his body accepts it he will no longer have hyper igm it will be a thing of the past! Dr gave official results that Jenn Claire is a perfect match for him! Once Gus's lungs are healed they will be multiple tests both will have to go through to make sure they are both healthy! The dr believes those tests will go fine that there should be nothing holding us back now!! Just having to wait for baby Gus's lungs to heal! Once the transplant has been done they said to be prepared to stay 6 months. It is amazing to see God answer our prayers! If someone doesn't believe I hope they hear Gus's story!!!"

So awesome. Answered prayers are stronger than anything a doctor could ever do.
