So I thought I would update this with what I just found out. After having a new string put on by another bow shop, I had my wife drop my bow off today(I am on my run in North Carolina). Got the call and the specialty archery peep sight was cutting my new string as it had a bur on it. That is no doubt what cut my string from Archery Unlimited. I called down there to apologize to Rick but he was out for the afternoon so I will try again tomorrow.

Hate it happened again. It's good of you to man up and apologize. Sadly most probably wouldn't.

It's not a good move, it's what I owe him. I was wrong and he deserves to hear it from me, hopefully I will be able to do so tomorrow.

Sbo, thats awesome of you. And it's good you post it on here for others to see. Maybe other folks can pick up on the habit of admitting a wrong doing! x2 and maybe a mod should update the closed post in case someone does a search and reads it and doesn't see this one.

I'll just post my thoughts on this.
A lot of people grow to big to retain the quality they once had. I don't know anyone at that store, and am simply brainstorming. You see that in every type of business, and it's especially common in businesses built around one persons skills.
I have no doubt, if I were to ask shaw to build and install a string, he would do a quality job. A month later, if the center serving was separating, he would be more than happy to fix it, although it likely wouldn't have happened to begin with. At that point, I'd be very surprised if I'd walk out of there without us doing serious brainstorming on what was going on, and quite a few test shots down range. If it happened a third time, I'm completely confident he would be.
Now, if shaw chose to open a pro shop, had several bow techs, was doing 50x as much business, and ordering someone else's strings, there is no way he would be able to offer the same quality of service as he seems to do now.
My point is, unless you are using somebody who has the time to treat it like his own, don't expect too much, because there's not much these bigger guys can do about some decline in their quality. All you can ask is they fix their errors for free.
Now, as far as attitude and everything else, in a business where you deal directly with customers, you better slap a smile on your face and try to make things right, no matter how mad the customer is. Unless you were cussing the guy out, or talking bad about his dog, I'd expect him to grin and bear it. If he didn't, I'd certainly take my business elsewhere.
