Anybody have any experience planting these in the summer? I was thinking about planting them later maybe June so they would lay close to deer season. Also any thoughts on mixing in some lab lab with them?

IN my experience the deer will let them grow pretty good then decimate an entire field in less than a week. We had some get almost 3' tall on several occasions and the next week it's nothing but stems.

Yea they will browse them early then they will go untouched till sept or early oct. All of a sudden they will hammer them.

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

Ours got tall and nothing was eating them much. Then they started eating all the leaves off the stems. However, mine leafed back out and they kept browsing them.

They browse them some early and then late summer they come in and decimate them in a week or so, like has already been said. Over 20% protein and like N2TRKYS said they take browsing really well.

I plant them every year in May. The deer start in on mine as soon as they get 12-15" tall and use them all summer then wipe them out in October. Two plots last year about 1/2 mile apart were 4 acres and 3+ acres

deer love icp, from my experience. Can't go wrong planting them. We've found were they would just lay down in them. Guess they ate to much lol. One year we planted icp and soy side by side in all the big plots. Deer didnt touch the soy till all the icp was gone from every plot.
