I may have chance to pick one up for a deal. It would go on my crew cab Sierra. I have never had one. I would like to hear from some of you who have had one. Pros, cons, what ever. Let me know what you think. Thanks

I'll never own another truck without one.

Pros:
Keeps stuff dry.
Don't have to tie stuff down due to wind.
Security

Cons:
Tall stuff may require the use of a trailer
I've not had any issues with mine, but they could cause a blind spot.
Visibility while backing at night can be worse than not having one.

Edit: Mine isn't a Leer, but there's my opinion on camper tops.

I would love one, but I load pallets with forklift daily. Just won't work

I had always owned Leer until my current truck. The last truck I had, a F250, was my last Leer. It didn't fit the truck correctly and they wouldn't make it right. It was also the third and final cap I bought from that dealer. I have an ARE on my current truck.

Not sure if this is a leer or not. Just put the name out there so ya'll would understand what I was talking about. I'm still up in the air on what I want to do. I have mixed emotions on them. How big of a pain is it to remove them and put them on?

I'm not sure. I swore I would only leave mine on for a couple of weeks a year while I was making road hunting trips, but it hasn't came off in 3 years now and I don't plan on taking it off. I have a utility trailer if I need to haul any thing that won't fit in it.

My Leer was good, my a.r.e. leaked like a sieve around the side and back windows from the day I got it and they never could fix it. I took mine off a few times by myself and it was a pain, two men and it's fairly easy. I wouldn't say it is something I would want to do more often than a couple times a year though. Mine have all been full size long bed high tops too.
