Recalled in a 3-2 vote...you guys need at least 3 new council members.

Why did they cave? I mean it isn't like Oxford is a shopping metropolis. Was Lowes, Walmart, Golden Corral, Chick fil a and Publixs going to close ?

Sounds like a massive softball tournament that was going to be hosted there would have pulled out. Not to mention the hourly rate for lawyers isn't cheap.

Sounds like a massive softball tournament that was going to be hosted there would have pulled out. Not to mention the hourly rate for lawyers isn't cheap. From what I heard this morning they had several (around 10) different attorneys/law firms offering to fight any suits brought against them free of charge. This would have been a pivotal municipal ordinance for the entire country as it relates to this transgender mess. Oxford already had countless other municipalities asking for the framework of their ordinance so that they could draft their own. That's why there was so much support from outside groups to make sure that this ordinance was upheld in court. I'm amazed at how one group of people can go from hero to cowardice laughing stock in one week.

they are weak, plain and simple. Whether you agree or disagree every one of them that voted on it originally KNEW there would be push back and they didn't have a problem voting for it then. now that a little pressure got put on them, that they knew would be coming, they folded like cheap lawn chairs. each of them that reversed their vote should be voted out. that's the problem in this country now, nobody has a back bone. all this over a frigging softball tourney that STILL isn't coming. if the law wasn't written right in the first place, then again they should have waited and made it rock solid before rushing to pass it. Just crap all the way around.

3 cowards chose money over morality and common sense. Maybe they'll be ass raped at McDonalds
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.
