Weird morning here so far. Dead quiet...even the crows and owls and song birds are barely making a peep. It's almost eerie.

Had one like PCP described yesterday gobble about 5 times at daylite. Had a short strange sounding gobble. Flew down on other side of creek and gobbled once and never heard it again. Never heard one gobble like that. Possibly a jake?
It's hard to kiss the lips at night that chews your a$$ all day long.

Got up this morning at 4 was debating on going to the woods ...decided to come to work and get some double time....this windy weather makes me frustrated trying to hunt non gobbling birds

Heard 2 birds in opposite directions at 615, both gobbled once. Got back to the truck at 730 to get a drink and had one fairly close commence to double gobbling at crows. Did it for a minute and hasn't made a peep since.

Our bird didn't like getting gobbled at. But, we got cute and messed it up. Still almost killed the dumb 2yr old. On to spot #2.

Though our bird was across a fence hung up. Moved and he came right where we left from. Hunted with an older guy this year. He taught me to sit tight. Says the gobbler will come check you out most of the time as long as you give him enough time. Sounds text book on his thoughts

Had hen in plot by 630. At 715 a Jake that was roosted on edge of plot sailed in to her. She left him a bit ago but he's Still here. I'm in a ground shooting house and it's pouring here. Glad I'm dry. No gobbles heard.
