Six years ago today my dad passed away. On that day I lost a man who I KNEW had my back, would always offer sound advice to me, and would do anything to help if he could. But I take consolation in knowing that dad is at rest now, no longer struggling from the strokes that brought him down, and is in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! In the pic below I've managed (yet again!) to photobomb a pic with a deer mount! This was my first racked buck I ever killed that was worthy of hanging on the wall. When this mount was ready my dad went by and picked it up in Demopolis, and then brought it to my apartment in Tuscaloosa. I asked dad how much it cost so I could pay him back. His response - "Not a dime." That was so typical of him. Folks, if your dad is still around take a moment to call and tell him you love him. Or better yet, treat him to dinner tonight if you can make it happen. I'd give anything to have just one more conversation with my dad.
Jesus... I hope you know Him personally like I do.

I don't know you but I would say your Dad did a good job. Keep the faith Brother. Great tribute. I miss my Dad.

Folks, if your dad is still around take a moment to call and tell him you love him. Or better yet, treat him to dinner tonight if you can make it happen. I'd give anything to have just one more conversation with my dad. This is so true. I lost both my parents in 2007 (83 days apart) to cancer. I worked everyday with my parents in our family owned business and I miss them every single day. I now sit at his desk, but how I wish I could spend another day with him. Life is too short...

There's not a day that goes by where I don't think of mine. My daddy was right about everything he told me. I just wish I would have listened better than I did.

It's a tough day alright but sounds like you got awesome memories of a great guy. I'm lucky I know. 47 yrs old and still got both my parents. So many of my friends don't. I need to do more with mine. This is a great reminder of that.
