Have others noticed more poaching in the last couple of years? The poaching has got to the point where were listening for vehicles late in the afternoon more than were paying attention for deer. And yes, I do mean in broad daylight when we're hunting our lease. We found 5 bucks in early Jan with ZERO meat cut off them, horns cut off and thrown in a creek. It's a little irritating.

I was headed to the range after missing a early morning shot and came up on a slow moving truck. Well, as I got closer, I see the passenger pull a gun back into the cab and they sped up a little. My truck is green and I guess they started thinking I may be the law, because the next thing I know, they blow right through a main road stop sign at about 55 and floor it down the road. Didn't get the plates but definitely an easy truck to identify. If I see it again I will get the tag number and at least alert someone to watch their activities.

I have suggested to our rep. in the legislature (something I've mentioned before.)
We need a bill making shooting into private property, "reckless endangerment."- Much stiffer penalties. Possible felony.
Our county seems to have a particular few representing each area of it.
Once again, if you like the idea, contact your legislators.

I would like to see a 10k fine put in place for the first offense, and a year of community service. The second offense go to 15k,30 days in jail, along with confiscation of the vehicle, and any firearms in the vehicle. I think that would deter a lot of poachers. On the other hand it won't make a difference to some, they'll poach no matter how stiff the penalties are because of the excitement, and gratification they get from it.

I was headed to hurtsboro one day and passing through Fitzpatrick I saw a big bodied deer on the side road thinking someone hit, but got there and sure enough head was cut off and what not. Now it may have been hit But I think if someone has to poach to kill a deer then they don't need to hunt

Probably is a lot more poaching now that season is over. There may be only one game warden to a county to keep it patrolled. Also there are no hunters in the woods to report it. IMO during season they know if someone is hunting such and such property and know when to poach a certain area.

Hunt in Marion Co. Just got back from club. Every camper had been broken into, lots of damage and stolen property. What a mess
