I have no idea of dates of either. Potato festival may be July 4th.

btw, Rattlesnake Rodeo in Opp is April 1-2 Might be a good one. They have 3 country artists playing on 4/1. John Anderson, Sammy Kershaw, & Aaron Tippin. Says tickets are $25 ahead $30 at door. Some kind of race at the speedway and yum rattlesnake meat.

Always wanted to go look around (in daylight). I had an opportunity SEVERAL years ago. There was a LARGE black man everybody called Batman who worked for Jones or Meadows Tire in Selma. He cooked BBQ at it and offered to take me. I chickened out. Mainly because he'd have been stuck in the same place cooking all day. I'd have had to explore alone. Yea...I wouldn't take the family to that one.

Alex City has Jazzfest in early June, Friday night in town and Saturday night at the Lake Martin Amphitheatre.
Some past performers are Delbert McClinton, Derek Truks, Dickie Betts, Los Lonely Boys, Bonemassa, All free of charge. Great family atmosphere.

Anything you could want could be bought at the foot wash. Fort deposit has Calico Fort sometime in April I think. I never make it because it's during turkey season.

It may not always be but the one time I went to the Faundsdale Crawfish boil it was the same weekend as the foot washing and there were cops crawling all over Hwy 5.
