Hey Phil, tell is again how great that first Hiesman winner was that came outa Tuscaloosa. What did he ever accomplish in the NFL? Hell what did he do in college for that matter. He was second best on his team and third best in the state behind Ben Tate. Waiting patiently on Phil's response.

Yep...Tate has the hardware to prove it...Heisman, first team all-SEC, first team All-American, Pro Bowl, and still a starting running back in the NFL. Oh, that's right, he has none of those. Ingram does, though.

Hey Phil, tell is again how great that first Hiesman winner was that came outa Tuscaloosa. What did he ever accomplish in the NFL? Hell what did he do in college for that matter. You mean the one that is still playing and earning a pay check? The one who has lasted longer than most running backs in the NFL? That one? The one who signed a new 4 year 16 million dollar contract last spring?

Come on, just becuse Ben didn't play last year and played for 3 teams in 2014 doesn't mean he isn't the greatest.

Once again, I'm not sure why the Barners think that Gus is a better coach because of what his players do after they leave college to go to the NFL. I could care less how well Bama's players do after they leave. All I know is that Nick Saban gets the most out of the players he brings in and they are all excellent college players. Trent Richardson has been an NFL bust, but Saban made him a scary college football player.
So you tell me. Who's the better coach: the guy who gets the most out of his players while he's got control of them or the guy who's players turn out to be better after they leave the program??

Hey Phil, tell is again how great that first Hiesman winner was that came outa Tuscaloosa. What did he ever accomplish in the NFL? Hell what did he do in college for that matter. I'll give it a go. 1) I can't speak for Phil's feelings but for the rest of the Alabama fans it was great! First Heisman trophy winner out of UA with a second Heisman just 5 years later. 2) His NFL accomplishments. First RB selected in the 2011 Draft to the Saints. First Saints RB with back to back 100 yard games since Duece McAllister. Pro Bowl alternate selection. Signed a 4 year 16 million dollar deal with the Saints in 2015. Has a career total 26 TD's as the starting RB for the Saints. 3) What did he do in College for that matter. Finished 2-1 against AU. In the season opener of the 2009–10 season (Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game: #5 Alabama vs #7 Virginia Tech), Ingram was the player of the game with 150 rushing yards, a rushing touchdown, and a receiving touchdown. On October 17, 2009, in a game against South Carolina, Ingram ran for a career-high 246 yards. He was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week. In the 2009 SEC Championship Game versus the undefeated and top-ranked Florida Gators, Ingram rushed for 113 yards and three touchdowns, while also catching two passes for 76 receiving yards to combine for 189 all-purpose yards. In the game, Ingram also surpassed Bobby Humphrey's single-season rushing record for the Crimson Tide, reaching 1,542 rushing yards for the season.[ On December 12, Ingram won the Heisman Trophy in the closest vote in the award's 75-year history.[21] Ingram was Alabama's first Heisman winner, the third consecutive sophomore to win the award, and the first running back to win the award since Reggie Bush. At the time Ingram was nine days shy of his twentieth birthday, making him the youngest player to win the Heisman. Ingram was recognized as a unanimous first-team All-American, having received first-team honors from the Associated Press, American Football Coaches Association, Football Writers Association of America, Sporting News, and Walter Camp Football Foundation. On January 7, 2010 Alabama defeated Texas 37–21 to win the BCS National Championship. Ingram received honors as Offensive MVP after rushing for 116 yards and 2 touchdowns on 22 carries.[25] For the 2009 season, Ingram rushed for 1,658 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also had 334 receiving yards with 3 TD's. I hope this helped. Back to original topic. Great off season pickup at LB for Auburn.

[/quote] I take football for what it is: Entertainment. This player AU picked up is not a projected high NFL pick. He is not a highly touted college player. He is an average player from the University of IILINOIS. Think about that people. An average player from the UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS!!! How far has AU fallen when fans are happy getting an average player from the University of Illinois??? This is sad. There is no way an AVERAGE player from Illinois should come play LB at Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Alabama, etc. Come on AU fans, expect MORE...You're paying the coach for more!!
