Yeah you missed it. The consensus here is against it. Though it personally wont hurt my feelings if it is passed.

Doesn't really matter if it passes or not in my opinion. People are still going to continue to poor it out. They'll just have to pay the price when caught.

When feed stores are already selling 2-2.5 tons every Friday of deer season does it really matter? They are getting fed whether you do it or not.

I don't care one way or the other if it becomes legal. I'll hunt over it, but I don't have the money or time to feed religiously and keep a spot fed the right way.

300gr brought up a good point in another thread about those with more money can buy more feed, and will probably have more deer.

I can see some issues coming up between neighbors if it's legal, especially if one neighbor can afford 20 times the corn than the other. It's going to un-level the playing field for alot of people.

Yep, it's one of the big reasons I was against it while in a club, dues will have to go up to compete.

Falls under, "careful what you wish for, you just might get it" category!

Really who cares! As much corn as I sell at work somebody is already hunting over it somewhere! May as well be legal! Not to even mention hunting over corn is not the end all that everyone things anyway! Hunted over corn in NC never really made much of a big deal!

I Think it affects places like Barbour that is surrounded by private property pouring the corn out. I Think every store you go in down that way has a pallet of corn.

Same way in Camden, seems like it would be pretty easy for the GW to take tag numbers sitting out in front of a store and making a few checks along the way. Seems like those are the poachers and the illegal hunters everybody seems to bash.

The playing field is already un-leveled. When clubs on three or four sides of your lease are throwing it out, you have throw it out just to keep up with them. If this bill passes, all it does is free up game wardens to pursue poachers, road hunters, night hunters and allow those that do use corn to use it without fear of prosecution.

Well..as much as I hate to say it..I agree.

I have had to hunt AFTER the "supplemental feeding" law and saw a big difference. I hunt with a guy from here...and we saw a huge difference.
We had neighbors hammering deer off corn. and the deer got really skittish, nervous, and much less daytime sightings. And I started hunting there in 2005...3-4 of us...8 pt or better 3 1/2 years old or better. The difference was HUGE!

The one group got busted shooting them off corn piles. I watched many deer cross their line headed to a corn pile and just get hammered.
Yall might remember me posting about it 2 years ago. They ALL got busted..hunting over bait, hunting without permission( they were on our land,,theirs had very few trees, hunting while intoxicated, hunting with no license..etc.)
They were back last year doing the same...every deer that went to their corn..died.
So Id like to be able to at least compete with that.

Id rather see it legal then the joke it is now!

So long to the old fashion way of getting out there and busting your tail scouting and finding deer the right way and learning to hunt, there won't even be any need to buy tree stands any more just get you a lawn chair and sit in some bushes just any where you choose and put some corn out and wait, I think its gonna take the sport out of it and will ruin everything we've been taught about hunting ethically back when we were kids,it will definitely take the hunting out of it, a lot of kids will never learn the value of hunting and respect it by hunting over a pile of corn
