Academy has there end of season clearance on feeders. I picked up a Wildgame Innovations 55 gal feeder for $99+tax. It came with drum, leg kit, motor and feeder timer. ( I know Wildgame sucks), but for the money, I thought this isn't a bad deal at all. So, I put it up 2 weeks ago, set everything up. Well I get back after a week, and check it and it hasn't been working. I go through my settings and verify everything is correct. I go back again today and no dice. It still isn't working. I have it set to feed twice a day. You can select "test" and the unit works fine. But, when it's time to feed according to the timer, it doesn't go off. So,,, I know, I'll contact Academy or Wildgame and explain my issue. But, after doing research on this timer, it seems as if numerous customers have had this issue. My question is have any of you guys had the same issue? fix for it? Which timer is the best one that is still reasonable priced?

A couple of guys in one of my clubs got those last year. The only problem is the timer. Get you a digital timer for about $30 and they seem to be good feeder after that.

Make sure you put high quality batteries in it. I had the same problem and changed out the cheaper battery for an energizer and it worked fine after that.

That's why I use gravity fed feeders. I know it's hard for some who hunt far from home keeping them full but at least you know they are eating

I received a Wildgame brand feeder last year from a family member as a gift. It worked fine for about 2 weeks then started blowing fuses. I never could get it to work right after that. Returned it and got a Moultrie.

I had a 6 volt Wildgame Innovations 300lb drum feeder that wasn't much good. I got to looking on eBay and found a 12 volt unit that was an exact replacement and It's been going strong for 3 years on a deep cycle marine battery. To defeat the squirrels and coons I ran sealtite conduit from the feeder unit to a plastic box big enough for the battery. Then added a good 12 volt solar charger. I caged the unit in 1x1 mesh fence wire th keep varmints off the spinner. The timer keeps pretty decent time, losing only a couple of minutes a month, and works as it should on duration.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Best I have used are gravity fed plastic 275 gallon totes. I build a frame out of 4x4 to hold it about 4 feet off the ground. Then in the bottom of the tote I drill a 4" hole and insert a toilet flange then a short piece of 4" pipe and a Y connector and a screw on cap at the very bottom.

Works and I only have to refill every 3 months. It will hold about 1800# of corn at a time.

The only thing Wildgame Innovations I've had luck with is their Blade 6X/7X cameras and a solar panel charger. Hate to say it, but that Moultrie Pro-Lock at Academy for $99 is looking pretty good now isn't it? lol

On a serious note, you could always get the Moultrie pro kit feeder and bolt it onto your tripod/drum and have some more reliability. Although I'd probably just take it back and get an entirely new unit of another brand

I'll take some pics when I go this weekend to swap camera cards.
