My boy got a Barnett recruit (300 fps) for Christmas. Need a target to shoot at. Poor mans price. Not looking for anything special. He has a Morrell sack type target. Arrows pass through and ruins fletching.

I got one from Wilborn's Outdoors at the deer show a couple years back for $30 and I'm still shooting it. It's layered foam and you cannot shoot through it.

His banner is above on the sponsor list if you would like to get in contact with him.

If you could get the target off the ground hanging it somehow so that it could swing freely when struck that may stop the pass throughs. Unless the target has just been shot out already.

I built some targets years ago using nonwoven filter fabric folded and rolled and stuffed inside woven nylon feed sacks. Put as much of the fabric in the sacks as possible. Drove two 2x2's in the ground slightly wider than the sack (target) to the same depth, tops slightly higher than the length of the sack. Put a third 2x2 across the first two 2x2's with screws. Hung the sack on two screw heads. Easy to hang/unhang and worked good, heavy enough to not just keep swinging. Oh, and I sewed the end of the sack shut with twine.

I was shooting a compound, not a crossbow so not sure if it would work for you but I think it would.

Home Depot shows a 3' x 300' roll of nonwoven fabric for $52.50. That should make a few targets if you wanted to try and had some of the feed sacks. Good luck if you do!

Take a cardboard box and stuff it heavy full of old clothes minus any metal parts.
