Huntsville hospital ER has had a guard and metal detector for at least 5 years. They busted me with a pocket knife in 2011.

Same thing at Babtist East in Montgomery. In 2014 when my son was born I went to our car after hours to get my wife's bag and I had to enter through the ER and I had a gun and Knife. They would not let me in even after I put them in the car. I was flipping out because I couldn't get back inside to my wife. I finally had to call her room and get the nurse to get me back in the building to be with my wife. I walked through the front door 4 times with no problems but the ER was a different story. I hate ERS.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Haha! I was having surgery at Brookwood in B'ham about 10 years ago. I was lying on my back getting ready to go back into the O.R. and forgot I had my pistol in my pocket. They called security and they escorted my wife outside with it so she could put it in the car. They acted like they had never seen anyone carry before.

Probably because they wanted to build a pool of people to enter the hospital and that didn't fit my time schedule. the guard wasn't happy when the nurse came and escorted me inside. Picture your wife in labor and you can't get to her. Nuff said!

I hate ERS. When I first retired I worked Baptist East Security for a year. After hours you have to go through the ER and that includes the metal detector. If it had been just a knife they would have logged it and given you a receipt and kept it for you. They will not keep a gun however. Normally, once you put the items in your car, they let you in. Maybe your "flipping out" had something to do with it. If the nurse let you in the front door without authorization from security she was jeopardizing her job. If she persuaded security to let you in, you were lucky. They have absolutely no control over security and they did you a favor. No one there wanted to keep a man from the birth of his child, but they have very strict guidelines they have to follow and medical personnel tend to be freaked out over guns anyways. You would understand if you saw the level of emotions in an ER. It wouldn't take much for someone to snap.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I tore my knee up a few years ago and they pushed me in the er with a wheel chair and I had my little 9mm in my pocket forgot all about it. When they made me take my pants off I just left it in my pocket and never said anything about it
We will burn that bridge when we get there

No the nurse came to the ER where I was and talked to the security officer and told him I was ok. Mind you this was 10:00 at night and I was scared to death about my first born and some dude wouldn't let me back inside where I had carried all day long with no questions. From what was coming in the ER at that time I understand why he wouldn't let me in but I was probably paying for most of the other patient's in he ER also.

That is what I was saying, the nurse asked on your behalf to let you in. Like I said, Baptist East tries very hard to be accommodating to parents of newborns since that is the emphasis of the hospital. They want only pleased new parents. We had one idiot who the nurse got an extra food tray for throw it at her because it didn't have enough bacon on it. We went up there and explained to him that in the future he could get all the bacon he wanted when he paid for it. The nurse still asked us to let him stay.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I stayed a children's hospital with my wife and 2 year old daughter for about two weeks , my daughter almost died numerous times and I was stressed beyond belief . Well I couldn't have my pistol( thank god now ) and one morning while walking to McDonald's I had a black guy on a pink bicycle try to rob me , I swear if you never seen a man whoop another man with a bicycle you don't know what your missing . My daughter is 10 now and doing fine . This post reminded me of this , I guess you suppress certain things . Pics or it didn't happen. LOL. I would like to have seen that. I wonder if he ever started to rob someone again and thought to himself "you know, this didn't end well last time. "

The code you posted doesn't say anything about the guard having to be armed. We can't carry in my office, we have an unarmed guard at all entrances, turnstiles and badge in... So in other words, if a bunch of ISIS guys want to blow through the front entrance with AK-47's and kill every last one of us, they're pretty much good to go.
