On my sight selection. Hunting Roosevelt Elk during the rut is similar to hunting the whitetail rut. Things can go from 0-60 in a millisecond. Cold calling, you may see a bull come from 500yds away or in the timber, turn around and see one at 20yds. Hard to believe an animal so large can be as stealthy as a whitetail, but they are. I also like to run and gun (with bow). You can be working one bull and instantly be in the middle of 3 bulls. It gets wild every now and then and I want the performance of the sight and my equipment to be as sound as possible. I'll post some pics from hunting and of the terrain we hunt, and you will understand. Thanks to everyone so far replying to all my questions I've posted.

Thomas Jefferson. The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Life is too short to only hunt and fish on weekends!
If being a dumbass was fatal some of you would be on your death bed!

I'd worry about swapping that 4 split string peep to a 2 split before I'd worry about my sight.

Are those fiddle ferns in the last picture? I think it's a sword fern but, I've never asked a local...

Killing an elk on a "run and gun" is atop my bucket list. Are you hunting public or private land? How hard is it to draw oos tags?

I forgot to add that the timberland that is open to public is hike and bike only. Their permit land allows ya to drive as well as the state land.

If only I was a younger man. I'm wore slap out just from looking at the distant clearings in the pics Awesome pics and you're definitely in some prime hunting lands.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.
